Previous

(Thursday, April 9, 2026) – A boil water advisory is in effect for approximately 4,200 Berkeley County Water and Sanitation (BCWS) customers as crews work to repair a broken water line beneath the Tail Race Canal, affecting certain BCWS customers northeast of the canal in the following areas: Bonneau, St. Stephen, Shulerville/Honey Hill , Macedonia, Cainhoy, St. Stephen,  Huger, and Nucor Steel.

BCWS will notify impacted customers using the contact information listed on their water and sewer account.

Repairs are expected to take about six hours. Once clean water samples return, BCWS will issue another notification lifting the advisory.

Please note, there is a difference between a BOIL WATER ADVISORY and a BOIL WATER NOTICE. An advisory is simply precautionary. For information about the differences, visit Boil Water Advisory / Notice – Water and Sanitation
